Judge Dredd Movie

Judge Dredd is a 1995 action film by director Danny Cannon based on the Judge Dredd strip in the British comic 2000 AD.

Certain elements of the film were altered from the comic series, but it still did not find wide mainstream appeal. Stallone was nominated for the 1995 Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor based on his work in this film and Assassins. From the beginning the film was intended to receive a PG-13 rating. Due to excessive violence the MPAA refused to downgrade the initial R rating despite repeated appeals by the studio and Stallone. Mostly because of schedule constraints the film could not be re-cut and was released with an R rating.

The year is 2139. It is a future where people live in violent megacities. The place is Mega City One, located in The Cursed Earth: a radioactive desert wasteland formerly known as the USA. And violent "block wars" are regularly fought by citizens with machine guns.

In order to combat the rising crime rate, the Mega Cities have created special police forces known as The Street Judges, who have the power to act as judge, jury, and, if need be, executioner.

Heavily armored, trained to perfection, and equipped with highly efficient, customized weapons, the judges roam the streets. And the judges live by a very stringent code in order to prevent misuse of their powers.

One of them has become legend. He ranks as the highest street judge and has been on the streets longer than any other judge. He is Judge Joseph Dredd (Sylvester Stallone), who has been created as part of The Janus Project, a failed genetic engineering program that was intended to create the perfect street judge.

The Prestige is a 2006 period film directed by Christopher Nolan, with a screenplay adapted from the 1995 World Fantasy Award-winning novel of the same name by Christopher Priest. The story follows Robert Angier and Alfred Borden, rival stage magicians in fin de siècle London. Obsessed with creating the best stage illusion, they engage in competitive one-upmanship with tragic results.

The film features Christian Bale as Alfred Borden, Hugh Jackman as Robert Angier, and David Bowie as Nikola Tesla. It also stars Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Piper Perabo, Andy Serkis, and Rebecca Hall. Priest's epistolary novel was adapted to the screen by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan using Nolan's distinctive nonlinear narrative structure. Themes of duality, obsession, sacrifice, and secrecy pervade the conflict. The film was released on October 20, 2006, receiving good reviews and strong box office results, and obtained Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction. Along with The Illusionist and Scoop, The Prestige was one of three films in 2006 to explore the world of stage magicians.

The Time Machine Movie

Genre: Science Fiction

The Time Machine is a 2002 science fiction film directed by Simon Wells as a remake of The Time Machine (1960), and starring Guy Pearce, Jeremy Irons, Orlando Jones, Samantha Mumba, Mark Addy, Sienna Guillory, and Phyllida Law with a cameo by Alan Young from the earlier film. Like the original film, this movie is loosely based on the 1895 novel The Time Machine by H. G. Wells.

Alexander Hartdegen is a young scientist who lives in 1899 New York City. Obsessed with the idea of time travel and convinced that it is theoretically possible, he teaches at Columbia University as a professor of "Applied Mechanics and Engineering" and often gets into trouble for his free-thinking, radical theories. It is also stated that he was a pen pal of Albert Einstein. As Alexander rushes to the park to meet with his girlfriend Emma, he pauses to buy flowers; however, this notion is soon lost when he becomes embroiled and excited about an early motor car which has pulled up beside the park gates. He puts himself in immediate good fortune with the driver who, while refueling, forgot to activate the parking brake – something Alexander does quickly when it threatens to shoot off, out of control.

Lost In Space Movie

Genre: Science Fiction

Lost in Space is a 1998 feature-length motion picture produced by New Line Cinema starring William Hurt, Mimi Rogers, Heather Graham, Matt LeBlanc, Gary Oldman, Jack Johnson, and Lacey Chabert, and is an adaptation of the 1965-1968 CBS television series Lost In Space.

In the year 2058, the Earth will soon be uninhabitable after the irreversible effects of pollution. The United Global Space Force serves as the planetary government. Professor John Robinson, lead scientist of the Jupiter 2 Mission, will lead his family to the habitable planet Alpha Prime to prepare it for colonization by building a hypergate in orbit. The Jupiter 2 is equipped with a hyperdrive that allows faster-than-light travel, which will eventually be employed to evacuate the citizens of Earth. However hypergates must be constructed on Earth and Alpha Prime to provide stable points of departure and arrival. The project is accelerated after Global Sedition terrorist forces send two armed fighters to destroy the hypergate under construction. Major West, a fighter pilot from the hypergate defense force, manages to destroy the enemy fighters and is unwillingly drafted as the new pilot of the Jupiter Mission, as the previous pilot has been assassinated.

Dr. Zachary Smith is bribed by the Global Sedition to sabotage the mission and is betrayed by his employers, left an unwilling stowaway as the ship blasts off. The sabotage causes the ship to veer towards the sun. Realizing that it would be impossible to escape the sun's pull at such close range, the Major West and Professor Robinson decide to fly through the sun, using the ship's hyperdrive. Unfortunately, without a hypergate to warp to, the ship and its crew end up in a random (and apparently uncharted) part of the galaxy. Soon they encounter the Proteus, an Earth ship from the future, which has been infested with carnivorous and cannibalistic silicon-based spider-like lifeforms, one of which scratches Dr. Smith. Major West self-destructs the Proteus, destroying the spiders. However, the shockwave from the explosion damages the Jupiter 2, and they crash land on a nearby planet.
